Is it a tea which is blended with other ingredients? Or just a plain tea? The most likely reason is that the tea itself has simply gone stale. Aside safety, which is hard to judge, You shouldn’t drink a tea you don’t enjoy.

They all had a very strong metallic taste leaving an after taste in your mouth, after the first one we thought it was probably just an odd one in the box, but today I made a cup and my wife’s was another one with the metallic taste. we keep the bags in a plastic container with a lid. I am 76 and never had one like it so we are now concerned if we should use any more of the teabags in case they contain something that could be harmful, could you please let me know if they are safe and what should I do with the remainder.
